Data | Tech Lab

The Data | Tech Lab provides a space to:

  • Support faculty in learning data analytics, artificial intelligence, and data visualization tools for research and teaching
  • Provide hands-on training for implementing these technologies within specific disciplines
  • Assist faculty in developing technology-enhanced course materials and classroom activities
  • Foster an interdisciplinary community of data practitioners across campus

Room Equipment

  • Barco LD NT 1.8mm Direct View LED Video Wall (12X7’ equal to 163” diagonal)
  • Extron SoundField Speakers and Subwoofer Sound System
  • 2 Dell P8624QT Collaboration 86” Display Monitors
  • WiFi and plug & play options for faculty to connect to monitors of various sizes.
  • 1gb network speeds for university-issued devices.
  • Data Analysis and Visualization Tools: Adobe Creative Cloud, Anaconda, MatLab, NVivo, Open Refine, QGIS, Qualtrics, R, SPSS, Stata MP, Tableau, Visual Studio Code.

Reservations & Rules

  • Reservations Required
  • Submit a reservation at least 1 week in advance
    • For immediate assistance or to check availability for same-day reservations, please contact the Library at (916) 278-6230 or library@csus.edu
  • Up to 8 hours per reservation during regular Library Hours only
  • Restricted to Sacramento State faculty
  • No student instruction sessions
  • Data | Tech Lab users are accountable for any necessary cleaning and/or repair to the room or equipment incurred during unusual use. Room users should report immediately to the User Services Desk any damage, missing equipment, or unkempt state found upon entering the room.

Reserving the Room

Use the scheduling grid below to reserve this room.

  • Select an available day/time slot
  • Specify an end time from the dropdown list
  • Submit your request time (Sac State login required)
  • Complete the registration form and submit
  • A confirmation email will be sent to the email indicated on the form

Locating the Room

The Data | Tech Lab is located on the library’s first floor in Room 1533, adjacent to the Carlsen Center.
