Family Study Room
The library is pleased to offer a family-friendly study option for our student parent/guardians. This space is designated for use by our student parent/guardians who need a place to study with their children. This is a shared space, and occupancy is limited to two families at a time. Each family shall not exceed a total of 2 adults and 3 children. Individual reservations may not exceed 3 hours, and users may make two room reservations per week. Only 1 reservation per day is allowed.
The family study room contains:
- 2 children's tables
- 10 children's chairs
- 1 circus tent
- 3 children's lounge chairs
- Bookshelf with children’s books
- 4 study tables
- 4 adult rolling chairs
- Power outlets
- Hand washing station
By using this room, you agree to follow the policy below:
- To use this room, you must be a Sacramento State student eligible to borrow library materials with a child present at time of key check out.
- The OneCard holder to whom the key is checked out must remain in the room for the duration of the reservation.
- Childcare is not provided. Parent/guardians are responsible for their children’s safety and behavior. Do not leave your children unattended. If an unsupervised child comes to the attention of library personnel, Sacramento State Police will be contacted.
- The room is considered a shared space and up to two families may use the room at the same time. Each family occupying the space shall not exceed 2 adults and 3 children.
- Keys may be checked out at the 1st floor Library Service Desk for up to 3 hours per reservation. A valid OneCard must be presented at time of key check out.
- A $75.00 billing fee will be assessed for any unreturned or lost keys which may prevent you from registering for classes.
- All library users must comply with our Code of Conduct. Anyone found to be disruptive may be asked to leave.
- Changing tables are available in the restrooms (men's and women's) on the 1st floor near the South Elevator. Please do not use the Family Study Room for diaper changing.
- Do not leave any personal items in the room. Personal items will be sent to campus lost and found.
- Before leaving, please return the room to the configuration and condition in which you found it.

Reserving the Family Study Room

- Select an available day/time slot
- Specify an end time from the dropdown list
- Submit your request time (Sac State login required)
- Complete the registration form and submit
- A confirmation email will be sent to the email indicated on the form

Locating the Room
First, go to the Service Desk on the 1st floor to checkout the Family Study Room key. You will need your OneCard, and children must be present at time of key checkout.
The Family Study Room is located on the 2nd floor of the University Library in room 2003.
